TAU needs your support!
The positive development of Tel Aviv University and its international recognition would not have been possible without the support of private sponsors. This applies both to research and to the studies of the many thousands of students who have been enrolled at Tel Aviv since 1956. Tel Aviv University Swiss Friends have been able to contribute a great deal over the decades to TAU's continued improvement. Some long-established institutes and institutions still show their philanthropic origins in their names.

We have selected a few projects that you can support directly online here. Of course, there are many other ways to help researchers and students at TAU. In any case, we take the responsibility to ensure that your donation reaches its destination. Please be sure to include your address so that we can send you a donation receipt for your tax return.

TAU Emergency Fund
Since October 7th, the people of Israel have been living a nightmare. Israel will bury dozens of soldiers alongside civilians, women, and children in the coming days. Our hearts go out to the communities and the families affected. We pray for the recovery of the hundreds of physically and psychologically injured in hospitals across the country and for the speedy return of the kidnapped and the missing.

Thank you to our friends who have already asked how they can help. Tel Aviv University is mobilising resources for our students, researchers, and faculty called for reserve duty. Those left behind are working to support our students and communities impacted by the attacks, and to meet their needs, we have launched the TAU Emergency Fund.
The National Center for Traumatic Stress and Resilience
From children fleeing rockets to soldiers enduring combat situations, the number of Israelis exposed to trauma is rising at an alarming rate.

The treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a field in which Israel, and specifically Tel Aviv University (TAU), excels. Accordingly, TAU scholars and practitioners have significantly deepened their knowledge of the effects of traumatic stress and developed effective intervention models based on their unique insights. TAU recently established the National Center for Traumatic Stress and Resilience to build on and expand this knowledge.

The Center, although not yet fully funded, has already become a true “game changer” in advancing the treatment and prevention of PTSD and related conditions.

A donation toward expanded access to care at the Center will provide significant help with personal costs. Any size donation will enhance access to care at the Center which will directly support individuals by subsidizing the cost of treatment, thereby allowing more people access to various supports they may need but cannot access due to cost restrictions.

Uniform to University

It is our duty to free reservist students from anxieties about missed studies and work, and to ensure that they can smoothly and fully resume their lives once they return from combat. We must – with academic and financial assistance – guarantee their educational futures and careers.
In previous military operations, this kind of help made all the difference for students who might have otherwise lost a semester or entire academic year.
You can help currently serving reservists, and returning ones, in the following ways:
-
Scholarships for students who served as IDF reservists in Operation Iron Swords, with many remaining on the frontlines in Gaza and the north, in combat, for several months straight. Lone soldiers are particularly vulnerable. Allocations will be given of up to NIS 9,000 ($2,500) per student, depending on their type of military service and financial need.
-
Personalized academic tutoring for returning soldiers who have missed important study material and who need help to complete courses, succeed in tests, and save the semester. Allocations vary but can reach $1,500 per student for the academic year.
Duty called and our courageous students dropped everything to fight for Israel’s defense. On the day after, though, we need to fight for them – to help our returning reservists fulfill their true calling!

Scholarship Fund
A special scholarship program for students for whom going to college is a major financial challenge: Single parents, recent immigrants, members of minority groups. Goal: 300 new scholarships per year. With this program, TAU would like to reach out for the first time to TAU alumni who want to help other students at their former university.
Medical Research
Medical research is extremely important and groundbreaking at Tel Aviv University. But it also costs a lot of money. Only thanks to generous donations can the research department work on curing rare diseases to achieve international breakthroughs time and again. We thank you for your support.
General expenses
As Israel's largest university with 30,000 students, Tel Aviv University has many construction sites. With a general donation, you support the one that needs financial assistance the most right now.
